Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE

The contract specialist is the primary individual responsible for the creation and management of all contracts that the Royal Jet use to procure products and services. Overseeing contracts from drafting all the way to execution, the contract specialist also serves as the key point of contact between Royal Jet and third parties throughout contracts lifecycle. 


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Description

1. Prepare, review and edit contracts, to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies in line with Royal Jet rules and

guidelines. Provide recommendations and negotiate directly with third parties to draft a final document that is satisfactory to all parties.

2. Serve as the key point of contact between Royal Jet and third parties to ensure timely review and approval of any variations.

3. Assess contracted services and contractors’ performance to identify the need for amendments of existing contracts. Handle breach of contracts in a timely manner and Assist with contract termination procedures.

4. Liaise with staff within Royal Jet on various levels to analyze and determine comprehensive contract strategy.

5. Collaborate internally with Procurement, Finance, Legal and Administration teams to ensure contracts' compliance.

6. Develop and implement procedures and policies for contract management, including Setting up templates and

approval workflows across Royal Jet.

7. Maintain complete digital and hard copy contractual records on the entire procurement and contract administration

processes; including all relevant documentation accompanying contracts.

8. Help in developing and implementing a contract lifecycle management platform to ensure people, processes, and

documents are in a one location.

9. Research and keep up to date with the latest local and international regulations to guarantee contracts are updated and in compliance with laws. 

 

Skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Educated to a minimum of university graduate level with 5 to 7 years’ experience in a similar job, preferably with experience in airline industry.

2. CSP or CIPS certified

3. CCM certification or equivalent is recommended.

4. Intimate knowledge of contract language and contract style guides.

5. Skills in legal compliances, and ability to research local and international contracts legislations and regulations of different industries.

6. Skills in writing and editing contracts; to be able to write contracts clearly and concisely and edit for clarity, as needed.

7. Excellent negotiation skills with suppliers. To be able to negotiate both in-person and through written communication with clients.

8. Ability to build relationships with management, vendors and contractors.

9. Experience in developing and working with Contract Lifecycle Management systems.
